Thanks for the reply, I knew we both fished Hickory... I was thinking what are the chances we were both fishing the same saltwater area. Name: IMG_1287.jpg

It was so rough this past weekend we had to turn around just outside the Cape Fear river channel on our first try to make for the sea, swells look and felt like 7 foot. Came back to the beach and tried a second passage using the western cut along the front side of Oak island, we were able to make it out to the 30 ft water then a wind and rain storm blew in from the sea so we rode the swells back into the ICW to wait it out from behind the Island. Ran down the intercostal waterway 25 miles to Shallotte Inlet, made it out of the shallow inlet to the bouy, put in one line made a short troll run still heavy swells so we pulled line and went back in. Who knows when it will lay down enough to go offshore again.

Nice guys! I would love to get on some Mahi-Mahi like that! Nothing like fresh dolphin! Thanks for the pictures.

We spent Monday the 14th fishing south of Oregon Inlet, over Diamond Shoals (Cape Hatteras). We brought five Sailfish in next to the boat (including this one that I caught) - and then released after photo's. We also hooked and played two Blue Marlin (the biggest estimated at about 300 lbs.) - it gave a newsreel quality fight and managed to shake the hook - but not before putting on quite a show. My Sailfish (as did all of them) tail-walked and fought hard, but were easier to bring in. This is my first billfish. OHName: IMG_0038.JPG
