    Default Santa Rosa Beach Florida?

I'll be in the Santa Rosa area during the first week of June, and was wandering if anyone had any info on any local offshore fishing. Looks to have some shallow water bays around also, just wandering what would be best. If anyone nows any guides I would appreciate the info. Thanks.

    Hi
This is my neck of the woods ... On off shore check with Half Hitch as suggested is a good start as well as going down to the harbour and checking with the Charter & Party Boat Folks in Destin ... We have Bay & Bayou Fishing .. as well as the Choctawhatchee River for freshwater (and brackish in season) .. several natural lakes ... and some great surf fishing can be had as well as Pier Fishing (Okaloosa Island Pier & Panama Cith Beach Pier)
For the Bay & River Fishin check With Danny at Copelands on hwy 331 south of Freeport ... He also stocks live Shrimp, Sand Fleas (when he can get them) and all types of Freshwater Bait ... plenty of tackle for local fishing. Guides are as scarce as "Hens Teeth" but Danny can help you with that. (the 331 bridge area is turning out Spec Trout and Reds at the present.)

Hope this helps a little and that you have a great trip here in Walton County.

I grew up down there fishing. Pensacola Beach has some great public spots. Bob Sykes Bridge (the bridge next to the beach bridge) is awesome. So are the jetties at Fort Pickins. The pier on Pensacola Beach is a big draw also. The 3 mile bridge has a new fishing pier at the end on the pensacola side. Capt Josh Rozier is AWESOME. Look him up on the web for in shore fishing. Capt Al Bednar and the Time Bandit will catch all the fish your stringer can hold if you want to go off shore. Are you taking a boat? If so, the PASS is loaded with fish especially if the tide is running. There are so many great places to fish this is a short list. Give me a call if you want to talk about any of this. Gulf Breeze has a 24 hour bait shop. I assume your staying on Pensacola Beach?

Well I got to this message a little late, but I was down there last week as well. Had a blast fishing all over. Plenty of Lady Fish in the surf every day. At least their fun to give you a tug on your line. Tuesday morning I fished the 331 bridge area and caught probably 40 trout, non were legal size to keep. Thursday we went off of Grayton beach with Capt Phil Hammond and had a blast with the reds. Roscoeman, Did you get out?

Glad to see you get in on some of the local action .. I have been fishing mostly in the river but need to get out and look for a few trout and redfish (not those good looking Red Snapper you have ... this ol Guy gets a little sea sick off shore) ... The offshore action I have heard has been great and have some pictures sent to me of some outstanding catches of Snapper, Grouper and Amber Jack.

Thats a good looking group of fish there, way to go. I had a trip with a guy out of Destin for redfish and trout in the bay for Wednesday, but he canceled to hire his boat out to BP, they had a few tar balls coming in west of destin. I tried to book a trip off of grayton after that but everyone one booked up. the surf was covered with June grass and a local said it was hard to fish in. we had a blast though, thanks for all the info

Glad You had a Good Trip ... Sorry you missed out on the Snapper Fishing .. I understand from a old time Destin Capt. that there are more Snapper now than he has ever seen ... a lot are being brought in ... Sorry about the Grass but it does come in this time of the year .. you never know exactly when ... Pompano Fishing (Surf) has been extra good as well (before the grass) ... Talked to a fellow yesterday that had been trout fishing last week and they caught 40 up to 22 inches (bay) ... good Trout for this time of the year ... I'm still Freshwater fishing at the present .. wont be to long before they (Reds & Trout) get closer to my home area.
