... In the morning. I'm going to try and find a place in Hackberry to stay, and fish the lake or marshes for a couple of days, wind permitting! I'm hearing the wiers for reds, but other than that, I'm fishing blind. Any suggestions or help is appreciated! Shadow, I think I remeber you saying you were going to be out of town?

Hey Freebird!
Just a bit of historical note, but after the front passes Wednesday night, I'd try the reefs around the Texaco cut and Long Point (West side) and up in Turner's.

Ummm -- yeah. Sorry guys! I know I posted somewhere how I did, but just looked back and couldn't find any of the posts.
I made it down and fished the evening, catching 2 keeper reds and a limit (5) of keeper black drum and a trout at the weirs on the east side. Next day was a zero with 35 mph winds after a cold front. Tried that evening and found reds busting bait in the marsh by Spicer's but couldn't buy a strike. Fished the next morning at the wiers and limited on reds pretty quick on guld shrimp under a cork, morning glory Saltwater Assassin shad jigs and dead shrimp. caught 1 more trout, then had to head home. Going again in the morning if the weather allows.
