Julie Ann trip between the Wind
With the weather causing us to call off the charters for the weekend with high gusting winds, my phone rings at 5:30 asking, if I want to fish a small window of time between the wind shifting? I headed out on the Julie Ann and set up in 100 feet and found fish all the way out to the 140 foot depth. We picked up 4 for 8 and had to pull lines after 2 hours to get out of the high waves. All spoons with glow orange doing the best 75 down on a rigger. Not much action near the piers or up river for a salmon run, if this west wind doesn't bring them in, I would guess the run is over and our huge catches in 05, 06, and 07 caught most of the fish that would be returning this year. By the time we reached the dock the only action left on the lake was sail surfing and wind surfers, looked like they were having a great time.
