North Point July 9th AM
I left the camera on the boat
, and if the weather was good the wife was gonna` head up and spend the day with the kids fishing around the dock. Well the rain put an end to that so It `s off to the Shedd Aquarium for them, and me with no camera.
Anyway that`s why I delayed posting, was hoping for pics.
We started on top of the hill a mile North of the line, and took it out to 95` turning North and looking for the marks that were there the afternoon prior. They weren`t as plentiful, and the fish seemed to prefer the afternoon bite for the past few days. I wandered around between 42* 32` and 42* 33` N keeping 60 - 90 ` of water below us. We took our first fish a coho just under 7 pounds on a #3 Super Line dipsey 120` out, with a white plastic ahead of a green flie. The next few hits came on a full core of lead, the Stinger Kevorkian, and Natural Born Killer brought in 2 more coho and a laker, all in the 7 pound range. The biggest fish a 12# King bit a white on white plastic 40` down and 15` back on a `rigger. We took one more smaller King on the Stinger Kevorkian (it`s starting to produce again
) also on the lead. We ended up 6 for 10, with 4 light hits. The speed was an issue, we had action when it just didn`t seem right. The currents are really moving the water around, I found 47* temps 43` down in 60`, the day before it was 58*. Speed varied from 1.4 to 2.6 MPH at the ball, according to my Depth Raider.
