I realize my reports have been few and far between actually more like null and void banghead When I`m not fishing I`ve been doing Heating and Air and as hot as it`s been (both fishing and the weather) I haven`t had time to sit down and post as often as I`d like. The action has been very good for the entire month, the coho are getting bigger and are making up the bulk of the catch. Although at times it appears they`re just swatting at the baits rather than trying to feed, there are plenty of fish hanging around. It`s not uncommon to have a 50% average on hit`s to what winds up in the cooler, and more often than not the charters are coming in with 20 plus fish!

Planer boards with "00" dodgers and larger (2"+) flies are contributing to the bulk of the action, despite the warm water they are still working. The kings are averaging 12-16#`s and are usually in the top 40' in the morning and tend to drop down a little deeper as the day progresses. Depending on the wind moving the water around, anywhere from 40` out to 160' is where we`ve been concentrating our time. My best King baits have been magnum Pro King spoons in various patterns, earlier in the year when the bait was smaller the new Stinger UV dolphin colors were the ticket.

The majority of our catches have been coho, you have to remember we have 6 people on board and we`re trying to see a lot of action, however If you`ve been holding off on getting out waiting for the bigger kings to show up, there are plenty of them hanging around right now!
