Garmin Striker 4
I am leaning towards the purchase of this unit. All the reviews I read spoke highly of it. This would also be my first fish finder so I didn’t want to break the bank on the first go. Was wondering if anyone out there has this unit? Is it easy to read? Pros and cons? Also looking for a good suggestion on a dependable battery? This will be placed on my kayak. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I have one of these. I had it on my last boat and my current boat. I’m pretty happy with it. It has the options to turn fish icons on or off, which is good for a beginner who doesn’t really know what he’s looking at. I also like being able to save waypoints and input gps coordinates of brushpiles that the state has dropped. It takes me right to them I’m very happy with mine.

I just picked up the striker 7,didn't get it on the boat yet though.Just playing around with it in the demo mode and getting familiar with how it works now and it seems real easy and user friendly. For the price and the features this unit has its seems to be a great deal, this new one I got even had a feature similar to Humminbirds Autochart, but it has quite a bit of internal memory so you don't have to buy an additional card.
