New shop
Looking at putting up a shop to store my stuff in, and hopefully I’ll get a boat in the next 2 years and add it to the toys. I am looking at 40x60x12 with a 5” concrete floor. One large garage door 16x10 and a smaller 10x10 door. 5 windows and 1 walkthrough door. Bids so far are $45k-$47k. The Morton guy is coming Friday and I dread to see what he bids it. Anybody put one up recently? Honestly I figured $38-40k but apparently I was wrong.

30x40 12 foot ceiling and top part turned into 2 story. 10x12 and 8x10 with man door. No windows. Roughly 47 12 years ago. O heat or air. Did plumb for bathroom which I added later. This is stick built. Wish I had done all metal single story.

I have a 30x50x12.....all metal....insulated.....2 10x10 doors and one regular door.....8 inch slab with steel reinforced footing around perimeter and one down the center. Had it built 40 years ago. Kinda wish i had... had it made bigger....40x60.

WoW, that make you take a deep hard breath.

Yeah I decided against it. With power plants closing all over the country I am not taking on any debt.

Put up a 40 x 60 x 10 with 5 inches of concrete 4 years ago. Mine is made of wood (shingles). That was almost 5 years ago and I know I have at least $50,000 in it. The inside walls are insulated and the inside is finished (walls and ceiling). If my health is ok I plan on getting the ceiling insulated with blown in insualtion next fall.
They are never big enough but I can keep my boat under a roof. With the insulation I never did see the temperature get below 30 this winter with just the sidewalls insulated. I really find that a little odd but I am satisfied with it.
With the insulation and finished walls and ceiling i probably have close to $60,000 in it.
Had the tresses built at an angle where a person can stand in the loft....lots of room for storage.

New shop
I built my shed in 2014 after a tornado took the old one. Didn't spend anywhere near what you guys did, but mine is also considerable smaller.
10 x 18 x 8 no concrete for less than a grand. Pole barn with a salt shaker style roof. 10 x 14 is yard equipment storage, 8 x 14 is a lean to and where I store the boat in the winter. I throw a tarp over it. Rest of the year the lean to is a nice shady spot to sit out of the elements. I might run power to it and turn it into a wood shop. Might even put in a concrete floor.
I did put a loft in it to store the yard furniture and yard decorations for the winter.

Well I am having a 30x48x12 built with 3 bay doors. 2 10x10 and an 8x8 with 4” concrete slab. $25,500. If I need more space I’ll add a lean to later on.
