Change in my life
Today is my last day of work, I am retiring. I have lots of work ahead and hope many hours of fishing. Will now get to spend more time with my grand kids, a 13 girl, 11 girl and 10 boy, my father who is 84,l and of course my wife of 40 years who also likes to fish.

best of luck to you in your retirement. I hope you can do better than I have. I retired after 36 years at GE, couldn't stand not getting up to go to work, went to work at Wal-Mart for 15 years and retired after major heart surgery. Still had trouble with the I need to go to work syndrome so I work, but only part time driving cars for an auto group here.
Sometimes I feel like it's a curse, but other times, especially in the winter it's a blessing because it gets me out of the house.

Congratulations!! It is nice to be able to do things you want to do when you want to do them, including fishing, My wife also likes to fish...she may not go as much as I do but she goes when she wants to. I wish that I could still fish with my dad...enjoy that as much as you can. If you want to work...you can probably find work to do. I still work some part-time. Best wishes to you and your family...enjoy.:cheers2

Starting my 3rd year of retirement, and let me pass on to you what I have learned....
Do at least one thing each day, even if it is just going to the coffee shop (if you can, find a coffee shop that is close to you, go regularly and get to the know the people and they will get to know you)...There are 3 guys plus me that are there at least 5 days a week and we talk everything from fishing, sports, politics, food, weather, and anything else that comes up...
Exercise at the gym or someplace at least 3 days a week--gets you out of the house--do not sit in your lazy boy and watch TV all day
Fish when you want and it does not always have to be early in the morning....afternoons work good also...Clean your fishing reels, and keep your tackle box organized...I can always make my way to the tackle dept. in the local sporting goods stores to find something that I just NEED to have...Congratulations and enjoy it, you earned it...

Congratulations and I wish you as many years fishing as you put in working.
