Congrats on a fish that's gonna be HARD to beat!! Whoever mounted that one did a heck of a job! Most of the crappie I've seen mounted dont look as good as that one. That taxidermist is either very good or got very lucky 'cause he nailed it!

Guys sorry for the delay on answering your questions when i caught the fish i took it home and wraped it in clear plastic wrap made sure the tail and fins where straight out flat.
I caught it in Dec shooting docks on lake guntersville alabama it weighted 3.2 on my scale and 2.66 on the offical tournament scale but to me and i tell everone it was 3.2
The taxidermist that mounted it lives in decatur alabama and was well recommended Swan Creek Taxadurmy he did a great job and if you ever need a mount done he is the man the cost was $170.00.well worth the cost for a great first mount.
Thanks for all the replies and i hope to have a bigger one to show off in the future. If anyone is looking for a good jig to use or spoon give laser doc a call he is the man for making jigs for big fish.

Thanks James

Nice "skin mount". Although I prefer replica mounts for better quality and lasting durability, this taxidermist, (Joshua Knuth) has my vote for doing one of the best Black Crappie skin mounts, Simply awesome coloring and airbrush work too...look at the irredesent blues and violet that live crappie have.
