Default White/Silver Bass Pics - 2009

ed_moes posted a photo:

Here are some pics of some white/silver bass that I caught this year out of the Detroit River from shore @ Belanger Park in River Rouge, Mi. If anyone wants to try this out, the spawning run starts around late april and goes until mid june. Tackle used - minnows when it got hard to catch them, 1/4 - 1/2 oz jigs (plain or painted) curly tail jig bodies (white, yellow, orange, green). The other guy is my fishing partner Ced.

thats a nice brace of whites. pound for pound you always get your money's worth but i just can';t eat them. the texture of the meat is really different. a buddy suggested i boil the cubed fillets like shrimp with the seasonin and it did taste like shrimp.

Definately different than crappie but I think all fish taste different from each other. That's why we all have our favorites.

After you fillet them you have to wash them really good for a long time. Then wash them some more. When you get all the oil or whatever off them they eat just fine.
