Caught this guy in the Etowah river, below Allatoona dam, above the spillover dam that is 3 miles from the big dam. Was longlining a Bomber 10 - 13 foot diving crank in about 12 feet of water. He definitely went 2 pounds, and I am fairly certain it was about 2 pounds, 4 ounces. Didn't know it until later, but the Ga. record is 2 pounds 8 ounces.
Sorry about the picture. I am most certainly not a photographer.

Percidae Papermouth, enjoy the trophy. It will see NC again.
Holy cow! What a freakin' pig!!!!
Glad I could help
I have never seen one that huge. Way to go.
Nice Fish
holy cow.. And I thought my waters, Lake Michigan, had Jumbos.. Out of the hundreds of perch I've caught, I have yet to catch one over 1 1/4 lb..
Did you release it or eat it? I hope you ate it, they're delicious.
Released the stupid thing. I had never caught one before, and while it was in the back of my mind, I wasn't certain that these are the fish that folks mention eating. I'll go back and catch it next month when it is full of eggs, and see if it breaks the 2.5 pound state record..... :D (Yeah right - Likely I will drive myself nuts with it)
I kept having people tell me I should have sent photos of it in for the Ga angler award program. When I caught it, I knew it was a nice fish, and on the large side, but I didn't realize how much on the large size it really was. I thought it was merely just above average, then I looked it up online.....
That's one nice fat perch!
I wish they'd move this thread towards the top. I forget it's even here, and have been discussing/posting perch on the Bream thread.
Do gooder since April 26, 2009!
