We are looking at 2010. It seems like forever, but if you love to fish like we do...it is! IBNFSHN what is the crappie fishing like out that way? Dont get me wrong we like perch fishing but love to work a brush pile or two! When living in MI we would luck up on 3/4-1LB slabs during the fall of the year real shallow. Is it like that in VA? Is the crappie fishing done in reservours, rivers, lakes?

We have lots of lakes/reservoirs and rivers. About 2½ hrs due west of here is one of the best lakes in the country. Kerr or Buggs Island lake.

WOW ! Reading this about perch fishing sure brings back some memories. I was raised in Michigan in the Muskegon area above grand Rapids. One of the main fish we went after was the yellow perch and sure did love it. I left when I was 19 to go in the service and now I'm 57. I now live in Oklahoma and they call perch down are actually bluegill. I get up to Michigan once in a while and try some perch fishing but it doesn't seem to as good as it use to be. I guess nothing ever is, but the Salmon is pretty good up there now. But do a lot of crappie fishing here and love it.

The silver buddy lure could be hard to find as previously posted. A more than suitable substitute would be the VIBEE lure. We use them here in Ohio thru the ice for mainly walleye. Perch do readily hit them though. The vibee comes in many different colors and the perch finish is one of the favorites up here. I will see if I can find the website for you guys. What lake did there sumo perch come from in Va.
