    Default yellow perch

I have a question, can you only eat yellow perch in the winter. We went to Minnesota last month a tried to fillet some but were so wormy that we stopped. I heard that they were real good but...to many worms for me.

We catch a few during the summer while casting for white perch but never noticed any worms in them.

I ran into that some years ago in San Diego fishing for queen fish, (our version of croaker) off the beach, I must have brought home a good mess of em, however every few had the long thin worm, the meat around the worm was ok, not like worms do to fruit. I contacted fish and game about it, when they got back to me, they said it was a parisite, and the fish was ok to consume as long as it was cooked well. Yummy =)
