1/4 oz firetiger silver buddy. unfortunetly i lost my last 2 and cant find anymore.
twister grubs with lindy spinners are a fav of mine, and they'll take perch, pike, bass, crappie, and large bluegills.
Going for perch in particular, I fish them a lot like fishing crappie - tube jigs. Some with round hear, other times internal tube-heads work better.

See my post "It's no use If it ain't Chartreuse" in the main Crappie forums. There are diagrams there also. Set your float so the double jig is about one foot off the bottom. Tip with Wax Worms.

First time poster here. Been out of the Yellow Perch game (fishing altogether) too long due to health reasons and ready to go again. Looks like a fine forum to get started with info. Went out today on Swift Creek (1 hour after hugh tide) only to get skunked. Is it too early yet for Va. tidal rivers and creeks? Today I tried a small crawfish jig (pumpkinseed), lost my only chrome tiny-trap on the second cast, and failed to even get a nudge on crawlers, from anything. Watched another man leave in frustration within the same time I was there.
On lake Michigan, I have used #6 Abeerdeen gold hook with a very small floating chartruse rubber bead and a small amount of pink deer hair tied to the hook. This jig is then tied to your fishing line with the use of 4# test line and a Bear Paw. The Bear Paw with the jig is placed about 1'0" up from the bottom of the fishing line. At the bottom of the fishing line, tie on a bell weight. This is a small version of a tight line rig. I have also used a heavier jig in lieu of the bell weight in order to have two hooks in the water at the same time. In this way, you can tipped the jigs with minnows, maggets, worms ect. I like using a Bear Paw because you can adjust the hook up or down from the bottom of the lake. Gook luck!!
This one worked pretty good for me the other day. Tipped it with a small minnow.
Currently a non-fishing slacker! (not for too much longer)
