I was wondering what most people call a jumbo white perch? I know that alot of people will refer to big crappie as slabs and big large mouth bass as lunkers but is there a nick name for monster white perch?
Also i was curious about other people jumbo white perch catch. What is some are some of ya biggest white perch ever caught. I hear that the world record for white perch is 5ibs does anyone have a link to the site or a picture of that fish or anything close to it (3ibs or bigger i guess). The state record here in va for white perch is 13inches and 1 and 4oz.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
I don't know what everyone calls them, but I call'em DINNEROriginally Posted by PerchSlayer

I know this is a late reply but I just know read this post. At the risk of sounding real ignorant, is the white perch you're talking about also the same as a freshwater drum. We use the name interchangably around here but before I say anything else (and look like an idiot) I want to be sure I'm on the same page with everyone else.Originally Posted by PerchSlayer
White bass and white perch look very much alike too. According to this site http://www.hotspotfishing.com/record...ords-Perch.asp
the biggest caught was 4lb 10oz in Maine.

Back in my younger day, the grownup's would call a citation perch a "jack perch" then, I would know they caught big perch that day.Originally Posted by PerchSlayer
