What is some people opinion on fishing on tides? Do you find that you have better luck while fishing for white perch on high tide or low tide.I guess this question would apply to just about any type of fishing in tidal waters. I often will fish on 2hrs before high tide and 2hrs afterwards. Some of my best fishing occurs on the outgoing tide, I have done some research on this before and have came up with what might be a answer to this. They say when the tide is going out it brings the grass shrip( bronicula shrimp) and minnows out of the grass of the shorebanks out to deeper waters which i guess makes a feeding frenzy for the fish.

I usually have the best luck either on incoming tide, or right after the tide starts to go out. The fish in this area seem to move up when the tide comes in to access 'new' feeding grounds and then try to pack it in before they lose that access. Then again, I'm on the opposite coast.
:D Don't worry... Be crappie... :D
Hey PerchSlayer. I need to start checking this board more often as I love to fish for white perch in the summer. I never paid much attention to the tides as the effect is minimal where I fish for them. Maybe I should as I keep a record of everything else. Not that it would matter. If I get a chance to go fishing, i GO. LOL

I keep a log too, and when I get a chance to fish I go. Can't say that I have ever looked back at my records.Originally Posted by IBNFSHN

Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
