    Default East Coast Crappie Association

    Who is ECCA?

East Coast Crappie Association was formed in 2009 with the competitive crappie angler in mind. Our tournaments will be held mainly in Ohio & Pennsylvania, with the occasional tournament being held in New York, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia.

    What is our Focus?

Our focus is to hold competitive tournaments for the weekend angler and semi-pro,we want to help maintain habitat, protect crappie fisheries, promote and market new products , and spread the good news of the gospel through fellowship & fishing.

We at ECCA are attempting to have 100%of our members join the A.C.A for the many benefits Crappie USA has to offer through an affiliation.

Tenative tournament lakes of 2010: Tournament Dates will be released in Early Janurary. Potential for fall 2009 tournaments also.

I pray that I may live to fish....... Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged Big enough to keep.

I would like to know the benefits i'd receive from joining the ACA. And how much more will it cost to join them after joining the ECCA. Also, how much will it cost to fish each tourney you plan on having. Will the payout be enough to at least cover travel expenses to get to the lakes. I know a lot of guys that may be interested in your endevour to start this club. They will ask these same questions as i have tho.

    Smitty,

I read your article on the Tribune....very impressed. Anyway the benefits include charter affiliation and tournament insurance coverage, also members can choose to get personal boat insurance at a discount through the A.C.A. One of the biggest benefits in my opinion, is that ECCA's top two teams at the end of each year will get to compete in the Crappie USA Cabelas classic. We are granted two spots for sure every year. As far as the tournaments are concerned as of now we are going to do an 80% payout on entry and 70% on big fish. I can't tell you if it will be worth your travel, because I am unsure how many will compete in the tournaments. That is not the only purpose of this club, we will do charity events and also fellowship with one another and share the good news of the Gospel along with good stories and crappie techniques. I would like for such a well seasoned angler like yourself to join, but understand that the competition is only a little part of this club. This is not to make money, but rather enjoy fishing, fellowship, and helping the less fortunate. You can be as involved as you want.

    Blessings-Tim

Tim, thank you very much. I and a lot of others are a lot better informed now. Thanks for the invite. I'd consider it but i want nothing to do with the ACA. I will attend your club events when and if i can but i wont compete. The fellowship is worth the price of a membership to me. Wishing the club the best.
