Thread: Blue Marsh 5/9/09

Finally after a week of rain,me and my dad got out for some fishing on Blue Marsh.It was a really nice day and we caught 101 between the two of us,the fish were scattered and we caught them in depths from 27 ft to 3 ft.The water temp averaged about 65 degrees and we caught a few with the darker spawing color,but not near as many as last year at this time and not that many in the shallower depths.We caught them on Midsouth Superjigs and Southern Pro Lil Hustlers with green/chart being the hottest color of the day.Here's a picture of a few of the eaters

Congrats on a great day , nothing better then fishing with your dad. He's my favorite fishing partner.

Went back to Blue Marsh this last Friday and had a good day,we caught 111 and had some nice ones to bring home.The biggest of the day was 13 1/2 and all were caught on Midsouth Superjigs filled with Crappie nibbles,here's a picture of my mom with some of the keepers.

Went out to the lake yesterday(05/30/09)and the bite was hot,we caught 228 between 3 of us and a bunch of them were nice sized.There was alot of boat traffic with most being pleasure boats and bass fisherman,I only saw a couple other boats that seemed to be Crappie fishing.Most were caught on Tubes filled with Crappie nibbles,here's a pictures of the few I took home to clean.

Here's a couple picture from the last 2 trips we took to Blue Marsh,got a bunch of good ones 12+ inches with the biggest being 14.Caught them on tubes and have been experimenting with Yum Beavertails and doing pretty good with them as well.
