    Default Blue Marsh 4/5 09

Went out to Blue Marsh today and was surprised to see it was almost up at normal pool(about 4 ft higher than it was 2 weeks ago) and about as muddy as I have ever seen it,there was also one heck of a current running. The fishing was alittle slow but we did get some in the boat and a few of them were nice ones including this one that was to fat to fit into the Grip n check but was 14 +.Caught most of them with Midsouth Superjig(black/purple was the hottest color)about 12-14 ft deep.

Nice fish. I was talking to a friend last week and he said his son fishes BM. Said he was coming up that way to fish with him. I may just join them. No date picked out yet tho.

Nice to see someone posting about fishing eastern PA. I've given BM a try a couple times without much luck. Actually both times I was breaking in a new motor so I didn't give it an honest effort. Might have to give it another try in the next month or so. Thanks for the report.

Do you launch down at the main lake, or up at the fish comm launch? I think fall of 2007 was the last time I was there. I'm from Wagontown, off route 340 and Rt 10, which is near the Lancaster cty/ Chester cty border. I tend to fish Maryland more than PA. I can make it to the Susquehanna Flats, North East or Elk rivers in the same time it takes me to get to Blue Marsh. Alot less crowed there than a weekend at BM. Thanks for sharing your experiences at BM. Ron

I use both the Fish Commision and Dry Brooks launches, but when it gets busier and the pleasure boats really start up I usually use the Fish commision launch and steer clear of the main lake.

We went out yesterday to the lake and caught 74 between 2 of us,but they were all smaller Crappie. We hit a couple areas that usually payoff with some nicer fish and although the Lowrance said there were plenty of fish down there,we didn't really get into any good ones and the bite was really inconsistent all day.
