I Have Limited Luck In The North End Of The Lake Even After 2 Warm Wind Days Out Of The South.shouldnt This Warm Up First?? And The Lake Map Show Alot Of Timber But I Rarely Grt Snaged Up There.dont See Alot Of Wood Sticking Out Of The Water Either.any Thoughts Or Ideas.

Check the shallow bays, pay attention to sonar, and look for small pieces of structure. The fish like to move into the shallows, but like the security of being able to zip back into deep water. Fish the edge of such drop offs, and don't move close on them, cast to them. As the spawn approaches, the shallow end may produce.

I don't know which map you have, depending upon when it was first printed will make a big difference. The only timber your going to find is piles that was placed there by crappie fisherman. Or the blow downs along the shoreline or timber that broke loose from shore and finally sank. The area 10 hp has silted in so much over the years the maps aren't truely representating the true bottom contours.

If you truely want to see the bottom contour go to area during the early spring draw down or in the fall. It resembles nothing like the maps that are printed now. There use to be some nice sand bars that the walleye loved now they are nothing but clay, mucky bottoms. The Orangeville creek brings quite a bit of silt into that section of the lake. The same thing happened to the east end above Clark.

Shenango has always been a bit defiant in giving up much crappie action until the last week of April for me. For some reason other lakes offer better early action. Nonetheless, make use of your electronics, knowledge from low water conditions, and good luck out there.
