Sayers Lake 3/14/09
Went to Sayers Lake today. The water is drawn down making it impossible to launch a boat, but there were plenty of bank fishermen today. My son and I caught about 30 crappie and bluegill. Caught them on small jigs tipped with waxworms.
We had a great time ice fishing this winter, but it's nice to fish open water again.

Where on the lakw were you fishing?

We fished the area where the old road crosses Hunter's Cove. The water is drawn way down so you can walk out on the old road (normally submerged) and talk to anyone fishing on the other side. Be prepared for plenty of dinks though, and that particular area is infested with some huge golden shiners. Although we caught 30 panfish, we only kept ten, but I probably could have made a truck full of cat food with all the golden shiners we caught!
