Fish still bitting near golden run . Was there thursday afternoon after a terrible morning up on Pymatuning . The front came through and with it wind that caused three footers at times , rain and even lightning . Talked to fellas that had one strike that hit seventy yards from them . They took the hint and came in , so did yours truely . Anyway the afternoon turned out great. It was the first time at that part of Shenango for me .The signage to get to that launch is terrible , better off to put in elseware and run to the area . Lots of amish fishing and all of us getting nice catches of nine to thirteen inchers . All the females I took (about two dozen) were full of eggs yet . Fishing anyware from three feet to ten feet . Looks like another tough weekend weather wise .
fished Golden Run today with no even a hit. fished close in wood and in strem bed, marked some but no takers.went to swim beack caught 3 very large channel cats on plain gold hook and minnow. Also caught two northern pike on plain hook and minnow.Hows come i cant catch any crappie. Shenango has been tough on me lately.
I came up to GR looking for you around 1:00. I started drifting and ran across a big brushpile in 12ft. Threw out a marker and trolled back up and dropped an anchor. HAMMERED the crappies there. Caught close to 40 but only kept 13. 3 were 10". The rest bigger. Jig and nibble. Lost 6 jigs tho. I guess it was worth it tho. Marked it on the gps. May try it in the morning, early this time.
More Shenango Report. Did well today, keeping 21, released about a dozen. Mixed catch size, but some nice slabs mixed in. Never fished the spot before, saw someone's bobber stuck on a snag underwater while I was looking for stumps and or structure on the fishfinder, looked over at the bank, and said what the heck. Glad I stopped. I too have it marked on the gps. I would have never fished there had I not seen the bobber. A blind hog finds one now and then.

Don,
I don't remember the color, but it was one of the floating kind. Chaunc is right, though, I've probably lost more than one. All kidding aside that's a nice stringer of crappie.
