Caught some real nice crappies today near the Entricken bridges in a back bay. Water is off color where I was, out near channel color bad with trees, wood of all types, garbage, what ever floats. Becareful!!
Hello and thanks for the post! I just bought a slide in pick up camper and was thinking of heading to Raystown to try it out next week. I live about 50 miles west of Phila and it's about a 3 hour drive to Raystown. I will be camping at 7 Springs campground.
I've never been to Raystown, and most fishing posts on the web are Striper related. I have a 17 foot G3 aluminum with a 50HP tiller motor, so I'd guess it would be a good boat to get around the lake.
If you would care to share some fishing info for Raystown, I'd sure appreciate it. If you would like to keep the info private, just send me a PM. Thanks, Ron
Hi I dont have anything to hide. Big lake, fish here one day, fish there next day. If it would stop raining, yard work , garden and fishing are going to all clash. Where at do you plan to camp?
We will camp at Seven Springs, possibly be there on Monday if the weather looks stable for a few days. I hear ya on the garden and yardwork. Still trying to get my garden planted! How about a bait shop and a Lake Map, any around the area? Thanks, Ron
You would be traveling on RT 26 weather from the north or south to Seven Points. Their are some bait shops along 26 and on the road from 26 to Seven Points. I buy my bait more towards home, you wouldnt be traveling that way. Guess I wasnt much help. Youll be fine. Which way are you coming?
Hi. You would be taking the Evertt exit. Dont know what number it is. As your coming up RT 26 youll see a turn off sign for Saxton (Dont take) Up from Saxton on 26, mile or two, there is a green BP gas station on the right. Info, bait, ect.
Like I said the other day was muddy to off color. Up by seven points should be a little off color, but fishable. Today was cut, cut, cut grass. Tomorrow just cut. I would love to get out there and just fish. I knew this would happen. Enjoy yourself!!!
Hello Greensprings, Just got back from Raystown. Was tough fishing Mon and Tues, just dinks. Weds the water warmed up some, just breaking 50 degrees. I caught a pair of 17" smallmouths and a couple keeper crappie, with some other mixed panfish. The highlite of the trip was my wife catching a 14" crappie on Weds. Best crappie I've seen come from PA waters! Thanks for you help.
