Default Can't wait to try the new TOYS !!!

I got a new tohatsu 20 hp kicker motor to fish the smaller lakes and also bought a Hummingbird 997si. I can't wait to try the 997 side imaging for scouting new waters. We usually just fished Shenago because of motor restrictions and known good spots. I hope to branch out and try some new crappie waters.

You will love the 997. I purchased one last year. Be sure to take a couple hours on the boat without the rods to learn how to use it. You will be able to easily locate schools of fish and structure in deeper water. I use the 997 to pinpoint the school, then verticle jig with a Vexilar (ice flasher) with great success.

I hope to go out tuesday , I got the 997si hooked up and the new 20hp connected to the big motor for steering. I love playing with the new toys , will try either Lake Aurther or Shenango.

Took the boat out today for it's first run of the year. The new Tohatsu 20hp ran great and started up fast everytime. I hoped for more speed , it topped out at 7.8 mph . The Hummingbird 997si worked well , need some warmer weather to just play with it. The detail of structure was real neat , I hope to get back out this week and play some more. We didn't really fish much , but for those wanting to know. We were at Lake Auther 3/24 and water temp was 42-45 degs. Heres the rig just coming out of the water.
