Don't know what launch the meet was to be at but sorry I missed.I put in at the Rt 18 launch and didn't see anybody all day . Only picked up a few keepers and a variety of other fish . The smallies were the biggest and the day was nice till almost noon when the skiers and jet sleds hit the water . I hope everybody else had a good day . It was one of my last days with my current boat as the new one is due in in Sept .

Carl, you should have checked the board the day before you went. Almost everybody cancelled out due to commitments we had. Hoping to pick a day in sept, to get together. Anybody have suggestion on what day.

With archery season approaching, I'm sure the fishing will come to an end for some. I used to be a die hard archer, but now, I'm finding I like to fish more (I think). So a date before the first day of bow season maybe around sept 13-14 or 20-21? Pick a date, any date. What does everyone else think? Don

There is another thread started about the September fish together. Looks like it might be the 20th.

Default Found some nice ones

Was having a tough day finding keepers. Went uplake and fished a point in 14ft water. Put the spoons down with minnows , yes minnows. Good size fish were slamming them. Kept 20 with a 14" kicker.

Spoon bite is only starting but will get better as the water cools down. Temps are 73 now. When it gets down in the 60"s, the spoons will be the ticket for limits. Spoon feed em.

Fished yesterday, bite was slow, or my technique was bad lol, found fish suspended 2 ft off the bottom, but bite was also light. Only caught about a dozen, but it was so late in the day, and so few bites, released them, not knowing if there was going to be a meal lol. Smitty, it was me that waved to you about 11:00 or so. How did you do? I found them up where I usually fish, but found some a little west also. Don

Don, i did pretty good for a slow day. Caught a lot of throwbacks but kept 15 that were 11 or better and gave them to Deacon Bob. Should call him big hat Bob. Get those spoons down there over those stumps. Tip with a minnow. Caught all the big ones that way. Are you coming up this saturday for the fish-together? I'm frying some crappies.

I'm hoping to make it. I'll let you know later in the week. I recently went to erie with a buddy, and brought back 22 lbs of walleye fillets, so I can bring a couple of pounds of them. I hope the weather is good enough to fish. I may be by myself, if that is the case, I'll not bring the boat. My father had eye surgery last week, and may want to come along, if that's the case, I'll fish. Talk to you later in the week. Don

Figured i'd go up today and try to see why the fishing is so tough. Found out that there's a big hatch of bugs. The fish are gorging themselves on these bugs. I kept 8 today and checked their stomachs and sure enough, bugs in them. Didn't take a picture but believe me, there were a lot of bugs in their stomachs. The bluegills were having a field day on top slurping them down. Next time you catch a couple, even if they're smaller fish, gut one and see whats up. I cant remember the last time the lake has done this.
