Have fished shenango last couple of Saturdays with little or no success...have tried jigs, sigs with minnows, microspoons with and without crappie nibbles...am fishing midday as this has been my only time available to fish...am focusing on wood on the shoreline...any help would be much appreciated......mendawg

From a boat , I would float a minnow on a aberdine #8 hook , small splitshot, slip bober down 3-6 ft in 8-10ft of water . Search and hunting is all that works for me .What end are you fishing ? Get a good map and keep track of where and when you fish , how you do , and on what bait . My mind is shot so thats the only way I can keep track . Willing to go with anyone who has a boat , buys bait , food , gas . Just kidding . Hope I helped . Spent alomst 35 buck to make the run over yesterday and get beat up by the wind .

Wish you guys would catch some of those crappies. Tried of tring to make a trolling run for eyes and having to put up with those crappies. They are a pain in the butt. I'm catching quite a few out in deeper water 15-19 feet right now. Most are on the larger size.

My dad and I caught 97 crappie on saturday. We caught all ours in 14' to 18' of water. All caught with 2" and 3" twisty tails and 1/8 ounce jig heads. All were caught bouncing off the bottom. I bet we lost 35 jigs saturday but the payoff was worth it.

xhogger,
I was the one talking to you in the parking lot as we pulled out at the same time. I see this is your 1st post on the website. Welcome to the board. Wish I would have had your same success Saturday! Maybe next time.

Just found this site. It looks good and hope to get and share info on the lakes. Was planning on Presque Isle this weekend but may fish Shenago because the weather doesn't look great.

I will be there either Saturday or Sunday myself (maybe the dog too) weather permitting.
