Default roadrunners on shenango

Hey guys,
How has everyone done on Shenango with roadrunners on slabs. I have only had moderate luck with chartruese solids tipped with a fathead. I really did not get the reaction out of the fish I expected with them last spring (expectation built up by everthing I read about them). Perhaps it was the presentation of the bait or color to water conditions but they really did not impress me compared to what bare hook and fatheads have done for me. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

For me, they were a waste of money and time. I've tried every size and color i would use on regular jigs that caught fish but the RR just didn't get it done for me. I've caught fish with them at other lakes, just not at shenango. Thats just me tho.

I agree with Chaunc, they are a waste of money and time. I've tried them, with very little success. Only time I ever caught any crappies on them, was down at Stonewall Jackson Lake in WV.

Memorial day to labor day. Get it at the booth at the campground gate. Oh yeah, Jim.... your PM box is full.

I have never used roadrunners. For the most part I use 16-64th/oz jigs that I tie myself. Small crankbaits and spoons will put some big craps in the boat also.

FYI... I will be heading up there with the boat the moment I hear the ice is off (which will probably be next week sometime). If anyone is willing to take the cold weather challenge, let me know.

Unless the water is above 45 degrees, we will be fishing deep for the crappie first. If we do not get to the crappie in the deep, we will move to the shallows for pike.

Walmart has them up this way. They're located on 18, just 1/2 mile pass the mall , on the left side.
