Default May crappie fishing on Lake Redman

I go to college out of state so I wont be home for the summer until mid May. This means that i will be missing the pre-spawn fishing. I want to fish Lake Redman this season a good amount but have never been there before. If anyone has any tips on post-spawn crappie fishing from the shore at Redman or Pinchot I would really appreciate it. Missing the early pre-spawn really stinks. Thanks Andrew.

Are you talking about the Lake Redman that is along I-83 in York PA?

Since last fall my job has me working out of Hunt Valley MD so I drive right past it when I go from Pittsburgh to Hunt Valley. I look at it every time wondering if it's fishable and holds crappie. I am interested in fishing it this spring too. Anyone with information please post here.

Noobie here. Live 5 mins from there in Dallastown. Have fished Redman and Williams a couple of times. Williams seems to have mostly small stunted crappie. At least I haven't found any big ones yet. Redman has a decent population of some nice crappie. Just hard to get to sometimes. There are a couple of good places around these lakes that produce year round.
Pinchot has some decent crappie also. Most consistent catches seem to come from down by the dam. Downed tree/deep water access.
Have ice fished these lakes and did well too.

How long do those lakes hold ice? Is there ice now? Haven't been able to ice fish home in PA this year.

It is funny that lake Redman and Williams is being talk about. I don't live to far from it (Lancaster county) and never fish there. I was going this weekend to check it out and just get a feel of the lakes. Not going to do any fishing but just check out the lake. I don't have a boat so 90% of my fishing is from the banks and I am always looking for good fishing spots for bank fishing.

I went to Redman this past weekend to look for some good shore fishing spots and I really didn't find too many. Besides at the York Rd. parking lot and a few scattered small areas, there didn't seem to be that many spots for shore fishing. If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know if I was looking on the wrong part of the lake.
