Catfish, I think your link is to a different Walker Lake - I've come across that site when looking for info. on the Walker Lake in Snyder County also. We've fished Walker for several years, but never from the bank - we usually troll with jigs. It seems to be a lake that cycles through the years - some years, we've done very well, while other years have only produced very small fish. Haven't been there yet this year due to a wrecked tow vehicle, but we're planning on a possible trip this weekend.

Hey Catfish, I am new here also but do a fair amount of fishing on walker. I usually fish from shore on the breast of the dam from now until mid to late may. You can really smash the crappie. The size like was stated in a previous post can be disappointing some times. Then other times good sizes. Chartruese marabou jigs work pretty well from the breast. I have also caught many on twisters, tubes, and road runners trolling. Getting to the breast is a very long walk and you would be fishing off of big rocks. Not sure if your diasabilty would alow this. In a boat pretty much the whole way down along the woods side of the lake you can catch crappies, and also as stated before at the breast. In the heat of summer I do O.K. in deeper water.

Fished Walker Sat. afternoon - caught quite a few small fish while trolling jigs along the wooded side of the lake, but nothing real big. My seven-year old son was able to boat two that were over 9" and my four-year-old caught his first "real fish", so it was all worth it. We'll have the boys on the lake again Memorial Day weekend to see if we can improve a little.
