Default Safe Boat Size

I'm thinking about going up to Presque Isle Bay this fall. I have a 2005 Lowe 165 T Deep - V with a 25 HP Merc. The boat does very good with 2 people ,such as getting up on plane etc. I will be ok in the bay but what about going out on the lake? I do not plan to venture out to far because I do not know anything about the area and lake. Any information will help. Thanks Bill

Weather can change rapidly on the big lake so be careful anytime you go out. I have seen boats as small as 14 fters out there, but they did not wander out very far. Be careful and carry all of your safety equipment along with your cell phone.
