Fished with my brother-in-law from 6:30 am to 2m. Got 53 keepers on 1/16 jig and plastics. A few big (14") ones and a mess of 10 to 12 inchers. Mostly fished trees in various areas of the lake. Lot of them had eggs.

I'm gonna head out Saturday morning if the rain holds off. I'll post a report over the weekend hopefully.

My family and I spent the weekend of 5/11 - 5/15 Crappie Fishin' and camping with friends of ours at Shenango Lake. We boated over 300 Fish and had a blast. Crappies, bluegills, perch, catfish, stripers, and even a Northern Pike.

We saw a pair of Bald Eagles Sunday evening and again Monday evening. First ones I've ever seen. What an awesome site.

We couldn't get on my honey hole until Sunday Morning and we hit the Mother Load. There was someone sitting very close to that spot saturday morning so we stayed back a bit and fished another spot.

Details:------------Caught----Kept
Friday Evening:-------30-------18
Saturday Morning:----52-------28
Sunday:-------------107-------66
Monday:--------------90-------46
Total Crappies-------279------158

Here are some pics: (videos are too big to post)

A few of the bigger ones Friday evening:

Nice catch Deep-V. We did go out Saturday but this is a new lake for us and we didnt do so well. Got a half dozen or so large mouth (released) and about the same number of crappie. The water was pretty clear where we were (near Maheny launch) and you could see the bass right up on the banks.

We definately plan to fish here alot more though as the crappie we did catch were very nice size and the lake itself is so much more interesting to explore than Mosquito (our home lake)

Hi all! Would like to head to Shenango tomorrow (Monday). Can anyone please steer me in the right direction??? Weeks ago I was having good success drifting through the Celery Farm with bait down 4-6ft. However the last time I was up there a couple weeks ago it was loaded with carp, no crappies. Should I forget Shenango and just head to Pymy and drift the stumps??? Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks guys!

I'd say drift the stumps at Pymy. We did better there last week than at shenango.

Thanks Chaunc! Hopefully the weather holds out. If it does I should probally be mowing grass!
I have been chasing stripers at night down at moraine for the past few weeks and anxious to catch some crappies! Take care!
