Default Need An Positive ID

Caught this nice fish recently. It looks to me to be almost a Gill/Pumpkinseed hybrid but I am not totally sure. What do you guys think?

If it tastes like bream...I call it bream. I don't even TRY to break them down any more than that. I'm usually too busy eating them to sort em out!

Its a Bluegil. Their color will adapt depending on the water they are in. Ours down here are almost all very dark.

I agree, looks like a gill, My cousin & I went to Peabody WMA in Western Kentucky over the weekend & caught a few the same colors & darker.

I thought it could have been a green sunfish but the mouth is too small. The mouth was the size of a bluegills. I caught some gill/green sunfish hybrids and this just doesn't look like one. It definitely has gill in it.
