I'm a new member to the forum thanks to IBNFSHN. Attached is a picture of the two Shellcrackers I kept. This was the fourth time I fished WB and already have a citation sunfish in the workings. I caught the big one drifting leaf worms below a slip bobber in 15 ft. of water and bait about 10ft.

Also caught a couple of small perch. I really need to find some of the jumbos!

Note: this is the lowest the water water has been and had a hard time loading my boat due to water level and wind. May try fishing lake Prince for the first time. I'm hoping the water level and launching facilities are good.

Jim

Welcome Daddio! Nice shellcracker. Do you have a lot of success with shellcrackers fishing that far off the bottom?

Thanks for the welcome Fishwish. I haven't fished freshwater for years mostly saltwater fishing so I can only say that it was successful for me this day as this was the biggest sunfish/shellcracker/bluegill I've ever caught. Maybe its was luck as it sounds by your email that they are bottom dwellers...

Well, I know people who have occassionally caught them trolling so, who knows. My experience has generally told me that you need to be on or near the bottom but, hey, "the proof is in the pudding" and you've got a picture of the pudding.
