Default Great Day

Nothing beats wading the river with Dad. Friendly competition with ultralight rods. Unfortunately, I had a pretty good lead, only to choke it away. My count, 15 fish, consisting of bluegill, redbreast, green sunfish, and bass. Nothing big at all, but a blast.

My dad's count. 18 fish, all of the above with two 4 inch flathead catfish thrown in.

I threw a curly tail jig almost all day, he threw a Cabin Creek Popeye Jig tipped with a Gulp Maggot.

On the way home, we noticed a really old cemetary in the woods. We have passed this thing probably 200 times in 14 yrs, never noticed it. I stood by the grave of Colonel Robert Patton, never heard of him? Me neither, but he served under Thomas Sumter in the Revolutionary war. There were also many civil war vets in there as well. It was very creepy, but very cool, hallowed ground. I am definitely going back when I have more time to look around. Most of the graves were of the mid to late 1800s. I don't know about you guys, but I have a great appreciation for this type of thing and thought it was very cool.

Great story, the old cemeteries sure do hold alot of history & it's humbling at times to reflect upon it, sounds like an all out great day!
