Bobber and artificial bait or live bait

This is a little trick I've been using for about twenty somewhat years setting up a rig to catch bluegill and or sacs on ultra or spincast rigs.
1. Get a 2 liter coke bottle clear plastic and fill it to the top with water.
2. Buy those little 1 and 1/2 red and white floating corks at any tackle store.
3. If you are using tubejigs 1/16 to 1/32 oz leadhead, cut about half of the red colored part of the bobber off crossways. This will lower the hight of the bobber closer to the surface of the water.
4. Tie a small snap swivel on a piece of monfiliment. Then a jighead with plastic ( weight of head makes a difference ). This is what you are looking to set.
5. Put the bobber on the mono from the top about 6" from bait and let it hang inside of the 2 liter coke bottle. There you can set your bobber like you want with the weight of the jig. May have to cut on the bobber with 1/32 oz or less with a 1/16 oz. I put a full 1 and 1/2" bobber to set a 1/8 oz. to start. You get the picture.
6. Once you have the bouency you want for each weight jig, you will see the difference in the action of the bobber. The key to this is having the top of the bobber as close to the surface as possible. HERE IS THE TRICK. tHE POPPING OF THE BOBBER WITH THE LEAST MOVEMENT OF THE LINE. EXSPECIALILLY FOR SACS.
7. Hope this little trick helps.
8. Next time I will show the trick on setting a tube jig so it is almost perfectally horizonally in the water. Of course with the 2 liter bottle .

Im sorry but I have no idea what you are doing.Well actually after reading this 4 time's I think I figured it out.This is a test to see how small you can make a bobber still float.I read it again and the snap swivel threw me off.I'll just wait for someone else to look at it.Welcome from KY.

I'm lost.

It is really a trial to see how much of the stopper or bobber you have to cut off of the stopper or bobber.( I am talking about the red and white 1 and 1/2" bobber made of stroform.) The closer to the surface of the water you can get the better. The wind does not effect the bobber and the slightest movement either way causes a poppin noise. I have all my bobbers about 3/16". Works real good. It is all done inside of the 2 liter bottle so you can see exactly what is going on. The more weight the less you you will have to cut or visa verser. Sorry I didn't go into more detail. I will continue try to explain until you'll get what I am talking about.

Can you get a picture, or what do you call this type of fishing? Sounds interesting, just having a hard time getting it all together.

Are you trying to say with the correct weight and correct bobber trimming to match, the bobber will pop on the surface when twitched?I dont mean no harm at all but this seem's like alot of trouble to me.Im not really understanding what you are attempting to do.Im all into learning something new but Im just not getting it.The swivel is still throwing me off.Hope my question's help me understand.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I do it myself. It's called "balancing the float", or adding just enough weight so that a minimum amount of float is sticking out of the water. I'm not trying to get a "popping" noise, though. (Note to others: the coke bottle is not used for actual fishing -- just for testing the bobber.) This is common practice all over Europe where float fishing is practically an art form.

I do it a little differently, though. First, I don’t use the red and white bobbers -- too buoyant. For casting on a rod and reel, I use wagglers which are easily adjusted with split shot. On a pole, I use a VERY light pole float. Second, rather than a 2-liter coke bottle, I usually use something with a little more surface area like a small plastic garbage can.

I Think, what Scoot is trying to say, is that he is trying to get his bobbers, Nutral Boyant, so any light touch on the jig will be seen. But i may be wrong.
