Default VA Shellcrackers and begginer's luck

This was me and my buddy's first time targeting shellcrackers. We fished Lake Prince in VA. for a couple of hours this evening and We came away with 4 Va citation crackers (1.5,1.3,1.3 and a1.2) and several other nice one's.

You cant see the marking on the ruler but for a frame of reference the board is 11.5" wide.

This lake is known for its quality shellcrackers. We did catch 2 small gills and it has other sunfish but the crackers were what we were after.I was told They seem to spawn a little deeper than gills and they like the bait right on the bottom so thats how I fished for them.
We used a slip bobber so we could adjust for depth and caught the fish in 3 to 4 foot of some stained water.

Awesome catch. If this is your first time targeting them then I can only imagine what your post will be like in the future.
