    Default Bream Float

I often use a porcupine quill float for bream fishing. The ones I've bought come with a small rubber band to hold the line to the float. Over time the rubber band rots due to heat, etc.

So I got to hunting for something a little more durable and substantial and hit on a #36 black O ring. I found mine at my local mom & pop hardware store. It works great.

Looks like a good idea to me. If I used floats like that, there would be a whole lota jerking and not catching, I would never be able to see that, I lose my bright yellow ones sometimes, in shadows or chop.

Paint the tip a bright color so you can see them.

Another way to hold them on would be to use surgical tubing. Could also drill a small hole in them to put your line through or attach a swivel to them for easy removal.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

Road kill man, I see them all the time here but haven't stopped to get any quills off them yet.

I use a little piece of electric tape attached near the top and near the bottom. I just roll the pieces around the quill and line. I adjust the depth by pulling the quill up or down, works great. I dip the tip in white vinyl jig paint then hot pink after the white dries.
