    Nope! Four pound is plenty strong enough for any bluegill or crappie. I've landed lots of carp and catfish over 10# on 4# line. Besides, most lines on the market are stronger than what the label says. The box may say "4#", but it will probably break closer to 6#.

    No, but I know of several good reels that will prevent line twist. I use Daiwa or Shimano reels that have some type of anti-twist device built into them.

    If i'm in thick stuff i'll go with 15# spider wire. It comes in 4# diameter so it works well in my tackle and the snag usually breaks off before the line does.

    I like Cajun Line Red Cast in 4 lb, have landed many nice crappie with it, also some nice bass 3-5 lb and a few carp that went 8+ and one channel cat that was just shy of 15lbs! A side note I caught my biggest cat a channel that went 40 lbs on 17 lb cajun line.

    i'm using Mr.Crappie camo 6lb. pretty strong. made in Germany. Now it's made in Taiwan. Go figure.
