Took my dad who will be 77 next month fishing this past wed. Was hoping the fish would bite like last year when I took him when we caught 104 by 9 am. It was not to be. We have had a lot of high water here up until recently and according to the news the water fell out so fast that the oxygen levels were really low due to all the decaying vegetation when the water was so high. We literally saw thousands of bream almost on the bank of the bayou right on top of the water. Guess they were more interested in air than food. By 10 am we only had about 6-7 fish in the cooler. Around 10 am we fished in an area about 60 ft. long in a curve of the bayou around and old tree root ball and in about an hour we fished up all our bait. We ended up with 57 fish. My dad kept 14 for him and my mom to eat that night and I cleaned the others and gave them to an elderly lady we know who only gets fresh fish when I take them to her. She told me Sat. that they were some really good tasting fish.
All fish were caught fishing 1-1.5 ft. deep using crickets for bait...

Awesome day for you and your dad!!! Congrats to you for taking the time, and a sincere thank you for doing something special for someone less fortunate. It is so good to see that everyone on this site seems to do a little special something for those not fortunate enough to be able to get out and catch fish for themselves. I am sure your efforts are truly appreciated.
