Default Good Day at Glendale FWA!

We went to the in-laws for the weekend so I brought the boat along. Hit Dogwood Lake this morning and had a ball. Found gills on the beds and man did they slam the jigs I have been making... hit three sets of beds and then chased the redear. Found them in 16-18 fow and caught 30+ears... kept a total of 16 fish for a nice fish fry this evening.
Released most of the big redear (caught several between 10 - 11 inches). Here is a picture of my best redear to date right at 12 inches. She was gut hooked so I kept her... full of eggs.

I have fished Dogwood for about 30 years and still counting. Do you ever fish it in the fall? We have our best fishing around last Sept., 1st of Oct. Lake has good gills, redear and crappie. Looks like you had a great time. Maybe we will meet there sometime.

I plan to fish it this fall. This was only my second time there once last summer and the other day. My in laws live in Vincennes so since I have my boat completely redone I plan to bring it and hit the lake whenever we get up there. Would be neat to meet up there sometime.

Great looking redear, Glendale's got some hog crackers in there. My best out of there is a twelve inch brute I caught two years ago. We go down there in September and absolutely wear out the redears. We've been doing a family fishing trip there every fall for years, it's a GREAT fall lake.
