Now that was a good time. I love it when plans go awry. I once was casting a jerk bait on some dam rip rap and bagged 5 large Crappie from one bush that had submerged when the water came up. Bass always liven up my day.
I ran into Sonny today at Lake Perris and he ask if I had fished the dam, I hadn't but it gave me the incentive to go try it. I never caught one blue gill but got into the bass big time. Caught 4 on the roadrunner on 2lb. Izorline. Lots of fun but I can't wait for the big red ear to move up on the rocks at the dam. This one weighed 3lbs. 3oz.

Gotta love it.
My home lake has good redear(Shellcracker) fishing but the concept of fishing in the rocks at the dam is a new one for me. Can you expound a bit on when they move to rocks and what conditions you find them? ie: water temp, post spawn, depth, erc.
We typically find them on rocky points where freshwater clams are present. This is in 5-20 FOW. The depth at our dam is over 100 feet.
Thanks

Mark 1:17 ...I will make you fishers of men
Nice catch. You're the second one I've seen catching nice bass on roadrunners there. Guess I'm going to have to find some and try them next time there. Has the water level come up since April?
Great catch! Just goes to show you that skill has a lot more to do with fishing than luck does. Thanks for that picture.
