Default Finding bluegill and redears this time of year

How do you guys find and catch bluegill and redears this time of year? I'm in central Arkansas.

    Thanks in advance!

I would look for deeper water near spawning areas.

I would think in Arkansas they should be close to making beds.

They are usually on beds staying in mid May here.

Like deathb4disco said, if you know the spawning areas, fish a small jig or bait near the bottom in the deeper water adjacent to the spawning area. If you don't know the spawning areas, and are in a boat, pick a cove that doesn't have really steep banks and start in the back of it. Work your way straight back fishing progressively deeper water, again near the bottom, until you find out how deep they are. Another decent way to locate them is to troll a 1/32nd oz spin beetle at slow speed (use only the trolling motor) around these same areas until you catch one or two and then you will know where they are.

    That's great advice, thank you!
