    Default Early or Late?

I had a small swamped dock that I needed to pull out of the pond. Got it winched out and had 3 of these guys dragged out with it.
Question is, are they early this years or late last year?

I can't tell what it is. Are you sure it's not an adult form of some type of minnow?

It looks like a small sunfish of some kind. Maybe a bluegill. If you are in Arkansas, it is hard to imagine that it is this years spawn. More than likely it is a small hold over from last year. Probably came from a really late spawn last year. We see that with fish in the sunfish family.

    Bluegill. Prairie Grove, AR.

I always put a few a year in this pond when I don't catch enough to clean then let kids catch'em out when I want a quick mess.
