    Default The lil bitty show

Saturday I hit a shallow pond in search of crappie , no big fish wanted to play but boy howdy did I get my float sunk about as fast as I could cast . Small Bluegill ,green sunfish ,hybrid sunfish and white crappie were on a banana run in the bright sunshine . I was testing something called Slab Sauce on a Yum artificial flavor enhanced lil yellow tube rather short at about 24 inches under a float .
I cant say for sure what was making them go bananas but man did I hammer some lil fish in fast fashion. Heck I even managed to foul hook one and got one so small on the jig it may be some kind a lil record on an artificial !
Only hit it about 45 minutes as my agenda was actually hunting and I was running low on time .
3:00 to 3:45 or so and on with the show ....

I like the little ones too. Good trip. Some of those are giants compared to my dock trip.

It is not the size that matters but it is the satisfying experience that counts.

Nice.....those are why I sometimes use 1.4# test line with an XUL.....lot of fun. Of course around here right now on ponds......and a lot of lakes, I’d have to break some ice...LOL.

    Regards

I’ve always wanted to ice fish. Just not in TN!

Nice looking fish. There is a park nearby with the ponds full of stunted fish of the same varieties (bluegill, crappie, green sunfish, etc.) that I take the kids to and we all have fun catching from the abundance. Catching is fun! (This thread sounds like a song Alan Jackson sang - "It's alright to be little bitty...it all started with a little bitty hook")
