Here's whats been eating our crappie! I know this is a crappie site but I had to share this monster caught by Steven Edgar, with his buddy Roy. This fish measured 7'-4" long & was 40" girth it went well over 200lbs. Steven used our 10' Toughstick rod with 60lb. Spectra braid on a Abu 7000 reel.

I Have Never Got Up To Early Or Drove To Far To Go Fishing
Those guy's would have certified it but didnt because they dont want to disclose the location, unselfish on their part to say the least, but i appreciate the pictures to at least document it. Steven relates he's caught over a hundred Gar over 100lbs. plus on this 1 rod....amazing.

Hmmm.....If a 4lb bass can eat a 1/2lb crappie how many crappie could a 200lb gar eat if a 200lb gar ate crappie????
Catching a fish like that has to be a blast!!!! The In-Fisherman show has a segment on catching giant gar in the Red River or maybe it's the Trinity.
Hey, tell me a story!

Hey Ripper just wanted to say Stevens buddy was Tucker. The last fish took him 50mins to land him. Ripper thanks for those Tough Sticks. The 9ft or 10ft are the best rods ever to land fish like this. Thanks Ripper. Those Gator Gar are huge!!
SW CrappieHunter; Thanks I'm working on more toughs right now, they b/o the steel guides on me till March. But the RRD guides will do the job. I got your 7' customwood wrapped & ready to finish coat...man it sure feels sweet!:D
