The last three times I have been out I have used mosquito, tru-turn, and stand out hooks. All 2/0 and bleeding bait color. I haven't seen any difference in hooking ratio or a tendency to hit one hook over the other. Anyone else experamiting with hooks or have a preference???
We have used the Eagle Claw gold auto-rotating hooks and have good hookup ratio with these. In 1/0 - 2/0 sizes.

I'm a believer in any hook that has a turn in the shank. Mr Crappie hooks used to be like that when they were made by Eagle Claw. Tru-turn are still that way. Seems like I have a better bite/catch ratio when I'm using them. I also noticed it depends on where I hook the minnow. Hooking the minnow in the back and putting them under a cork is when I demand turning hooks. When I hook them in the lips to drag around like a jig it doesn't seem to matter what kind of hook I use (as long as it's light wire).
Jeremiah 16:16a "But now I will send for many fishermen," declares the Lord, "and they will catch them."
#2 circle hooks have been my cup of tea the last 2 yrs. Love em, wont leave home without em.......my .02
Thomas Jefferson said I had a God-given right to pursue happiness. What makes me happy is to take a mallard's head smooth off at about 20 feet!
I prefer eagle claw hooks red ones most of the time and auto rotating most of the time I have to get them at eagle claw direct they also make chartruse hooks in plain hook I have seen it out fish all other hooks at times for sure I use no Mr. Crappie hooks as to many in the packs were not sharp or no point at all
