Are you fishing that area tomorrow evening? If not i may take the kids over to catch a couple to get them their fix. Dont wanna run you off of your spot though since you were kind enough to share. Thats really cool how that one laydown is enough to break the current.

Wannafish, thanks for asking, but even if I were to go back tomorrow (which I am not going to) I would be more then happy to cough up a spot if it meant some kids getting to rip a few of them soft lips out :D -- I have so many diff. lakes/ponds to fish that it's hard to say when I will go and where I will go. That spot just looked good. After you park, cross the bridge to the camping area and walk along the grass until you find the little trail that goes down to the spot I was at. There is a little cubby hole right there between that lay-in and the end of the concrete on the other side that leads all the way to the dam. Good luck and I hope the shad come in there for you guys like they did me. Be patient, cause I didn't get a bite for almost 1.5 hrs. Let me know how you do...Happy Easter! MM

I guess that's why I missed ya yesterday....I was on the south side of the dam. It's a good thing you went to the north side, cause they were nowhere to be found on the south. I've caught a lot of crappie out of that little hole. When it comes to fishin below the dam, you just never know where they're liable to be holdin up. There are a couple of pretty good holes just downstream from the dam (around the boat ramp on south side) also that sometimes hold good crappie.

Thanks LipRipper! It's funny you mention that, one of my best friends has been trying to get me to go there for almost a year now, and I'm always too busy....if it holds slabs that big I'm just plain dumb for not going yet! hehe...
Where exactly is that? Thanks.

Let's try those holes on Monday morning....you want to? We could meet down at the parking area whenever, just let me know? I'll even bring the minnows! Sound good? MM

Snake Creek is between Bixby & Leonard on Hwy.64 you cross the bridge over it, its tricky finding a place to launch a johnboat but worth the effort, plus right now you can fish the mouth of it @ the river & load up on big sandies. P.S. try to find a sloping bank tie a pullrope onto your boat when loading out, saves alot of back muscules.

Went this evening with the kids and got skunked, left a little earlier than I would've liked to but as soon as that sun went behind the dam it got downright CHILLY. Kids were cold so figured I'd pack it in. Great lookin spot though. May have to try it a couple mornins this week:D
