I was wondering if anybody has ever fished for trout at bevers bend state park. If so i was wondering where a good spot was and what a good rig might be would work. Would a float and fly rig work with a small tube jig?
I have fished there a few times. Small silver spoons are good and salmon eggs. Smaller is better.

You can believe this or not but one of the crappie tournament regulars from Texas that guides down there told me that if the trout are stocked from a hatchery that Danny King punchbait is very effective I thought that was crazy but I believe it he told me he caught a limit on it when all the others werent catching very many at all

If Danny King's has fish oil in it, that wouldn't suprise me. 99% of these fish are hatchery fish. They've been fed a diet that's high in fish oil. It's on the wildlife department's website:Originally Posted by Crappie George

Jeremiah 16:16a "But now I will send for many fishermen," declares the Lord, "and they will catch them."
Del Monte whole kernel corn does pretty good to them little trout. Me and my pops catches them at robbers cave area when in season. Good luck to all !
I have been a couple of times. We have always just stayed right below the spillway tailwater.....close enough that you could hit the dam with your cast. They hold trout in a fenced area before releasing them. The whole area is filled with trout; however, they typically do not get very large (probably under the length regulations for keeping the brownies). Further down the river, the trout get larger, but are probably harder to find. We have not used flies, but rather, earthworms, corn and minnows. Good luck, but dont foget the size regulations of the brownies.
I take my kids down a couple times a year and we always use Power Bait in the bright orange or pink color. Probably works like the punch bait. We stay pretty busy with the power bait and tiny treble hooks. You have to let them take it a little to get hooked up. Good luck!
Yes, have fished it with good results using Power Trout Eggs, rig them on a dropper rig with about 3 or 4" leader [ so they cant swallow it] cast out with about a 1/8 oz. wt. reel back slowly to make the egg wobble, you should load up! sure beats Danny King....plus if word gets back to him about trout he will only get a bigger head!
