    Default Best Color Combo?

I know 90% of all crappie fishermen's favorite color is chartreuse. That's not what I'm asking. I want to hear what your go-to combo is for jig fishing. Mine is Chart/Black/Chart (head/body/tail). When I hit the water, I usually start with that. Another good one for me is Chart/White/Pink. My uncle's fav is Red/Black/Chart. I was going to post this in the main forum, but since I do 99% of my fishing in OK, I'd rather hear from my fellow Okies.

Well mine is "minnow". Well, its true. I hardly ever crappie fish with jigs. Considering that all of my crappie fishing has been down at Broken Bow lake in 60 ft of water or on the dock at Arcadia, I have always just used minnows. But I sometimes put a chart head with a live minnow on it.

I would think that a red/black/chart would also be a good combo.

I've got nothing against minnows. Any time I'm gonna be on the water more than 3-4 hours I bring some minnows. But this year every time the bite started picking up on minnows, I tied on a more "natural" color jig like Silver/Black/Gray and caught more fish on the jig than the minnow. And I was only fishing the jig between bites on the minnow!

    Thumbs up

Yeah, I agree. And I plan to use a jig on this year's crappie fishing trip to Broken Bow, when things are calm with the minnows. I just never have had much experience with trying out different colors.....but I look forward to seeing some of the responses on this thread. It was a good idea to start it.

That is one I always have on a rod regardless of what else I'm using. I've caught bluegill, crappie, sand bass, drum, smallmouth, channel cat, blue cat, and many largemouth (up to 6 1/2 lbs) and that is just this spring. Been doin it for a couple of years. Always slowly swim it on a regular jig - hardly ever use a slider jig.
